How long will it last?

A decade ago, ceramic coatings couldn’t last more than a few years due to the limitations of SiO2. But with the introduction of incredibly durable silicon carbide coatings, coatings can now last over a decade.

Can I apply the coating myself?

Yes you can, there are retail products you can purchase from your hardware store. However professional application of a commercial quality coating will give a streak free longer durability result. It’s like all good quality finishes 90% of the job is preparation, what remains on the surface stays under the coating and is visible. Removal of all oxidation and impurities is paramount.
